It’s humbling to be eradicated at the beginning of a
role-playing game. The storyline in this game has just about
everything you would want in a role-playing game. There’s
a lot of information to learn to conquer each stage, but you’ll
find a handy sheet in the original Golden Sun game packaging
with the manual that will be a great help. Need more shortcuts,
hold down the B button to run through the layered environments
quicker.
You also have the option of playing linked battles with monsters
you’ve already defeated or with other players. In the
arena and in regular gameplay you get help from you Djinn
(a.k.a. the elemental spirits). Talk with everyone in the
arena to get helpful hints like the 15 second time limit to
choose a command (otherwise the computer automatically puts
you in a defend mode).
You gain experience, items, coins and secrets along your journey
– standard elements of most games of the genre. If you’re
stuck, talking with ALL the area residents should get you
back on track. A time intensive game, but definitely worth
the effort!
